My name is Shay Perna and I am an intimate portrait photographer based out of Jacksonville, NC. 

I’m a military spouse and a mom of 2 girls. I’ve always loved photography. I’ve had my business for about 4 years now and I’ve been photographing boudoir for about 3 years now and I love it!

For me, boudoir is about feeling comfortable in your own skin, loving yourself and feeling empowered and confident.

Yes, most of the time these pictures are done in lingerie or little to no clothing. But I’ve had clients wear a dress that they felt sexy in or jeans that make their butt look amazing and they feel awesome in. I always say boudoir is what you make of it. For me, it’s whatever makes you feel good, beautiful, sexy about yourself. These images are for you! Sometimes they are a gift, but ultimately the experience and images are for you to document this moment in time in your journey of loving yourself.

I include a lot of different elements into a boudoir session depending on what you’re envisioning or the words you use to describe the images you want or how you want to feel.

The end result is you having a great time, you feeling comfortable and you feeling gorgeous and confident. The whole experience is about you and celebrating yourself, loving yourself and the skin your in, and even seeing yourself in a different, more beautiful light.
